The problem
An AI developer produces more correct code per hour than a person, and produces incorrect code with exactly the same confidence. That combination is what makes unreviewed AI output a liability rather than a shortcut.
The answer isn't to check everything by hand — that gives back the speed. It's the answer real engineering organizations already converged on for humans: separation of powers, written work orders, layered review, and gates that stop anyone declaring "done" early.
Safety is a capability, not a tax on one. The controls are what let us run several AI builders at once and read only their reports.
